Links

Source documents for the Chesterfield Canal are in many archive locations in England – and that’s only the ones I’ve found.  The following Research links are to the major and/or helpful locations I have discovered, so far.  Other locations can be found on the Sources page, the websites for which can be easily found by Google. Happy hunting!

The Chesterfield Canal passes through three counties  –  Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire (Bassetlaw District), and South Yorkshire (Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council). Plus a major trading port for the canal was Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
